About

Wellspring Music is a collaborative partnership between Archer Endrich and Richard Orton. Both are well-established composers and designers of musical software. Richard’s work is published by Unique Music (http://www.uniqmusic.co.uk) and Archer’s by HitherGate Music (http://www.hithergatemusic.com). Both composers were founder-members of the Composers’ Desktop Project (http://www.composersdesktop.com) in 1986, and Archer remains its coordinator.

Wellspring Music provides a platform for the distribution of ProcessPack, a sound-processing environment aimed at electro-acoustic composers, or indeed anyone who wishes to experiment with sound-transformation tools. ProcessPack incorporates a number of processing modules. The first was ‘Dispersal‘. Version 1.4 of ProcessPack (released in April 2011) contains 11 modules, including ‘Hover‘, which turns any recorded sound into a unique synthesis engine; Echo; FilterBank; Pan/Spin; PlayMix; Pyramid; ReMix, and Wraith. Archiving and self-documenting facilities for each sound-file are also provided. Updates with new processing modules appear on average every quarter.
