There are three new modules: Echo, FilterBank, and Wraith.
- Echo is a basic ‘stadium reverberation’ module that adds a default 23-reflection stadium echo to any input sound. This module will be developed and extended in the next release.
- FilterBank is a versatile module providing user-editable sets of between 1 and 32 filters to any sound. The frequencies may be selected to be displayed in either MIDI pitch values (e.g. 69.00) , or as frequencies expressed in Hertz (e.g. 440.00), and their associated amplitudes may be chosen to be expressed either as deciBel values (e.g. -6.00dB) or as gain values (e.g. 7.11357). Users may save their filterbanks under a desired name – a ‘_fbank’ tag is added to the name chosen. (For example, if a user saves a filterbank of special harmonies under the name ‘Aminor’ the filterbank will be named ‘Aminor_fbank.brk’ and may be re-used and applied to many different input sounds.) It is possible to populate the filterbanks with randomly-selected frequencies in an edit window.
- Wraith is a ‘spectral reduction’ module which reduces the input sounds to between 1 and 32 partials. If the reduction is to a single partial, the output will be a varying sine-wave trace changing in frequency as the frequency contour of the input sound changes. The wraith module will be developed further in the next release.
The ‘Audition’ module can now be triggered directly from the keyboard, by pre-selecting (highlighting) a sound-file name on the the main screen and pressing ‘p’ – (for Play) on the keyboard.
There have been several extensions to the automatic notes provided for each module.
